Mr Parkar, is a highly knowledgeable and informative gentleman. I required two total knee replacements. Mr Parkar laid out the pros and cons clearly with what to expect, and a forecast of how long a recovery period would be required. His explanations were easy to understand and I chose to go ahead with my first TRKR.
On the day of the operation, his team of anaesthetists, junior/doctors and nurses put me at ease with clear explanations of what was happening and why. This is a reflection on Mr Parkar who obviously has a great influence over their training and understanding of patient care.
My operation went very smoothly, and I was comfortably back in my room by the time Mr Parkar came to check on me. I was able to get out of bed the same afternoon and was walking in the hospital corridor the next morning. After 3 weeks I was back driving and walking my dogs.
I cannot speak more highly of Mr Parkar and am now looking forward to having my other knee replaced by this very talented Surgeon/Consultant

Dr Parkar has done 2 knee replacement operations for me and he has helped me greatly. He made me feel comfortable and listened to, and not only is he a fantastic doctor but he is also a kind person. I am very pleased with the quality of care he provides and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

My whole experience of my hip replacement operation was superb.
On first meeting Mr Parkar he was very positive and straightforward explaining the procedure, the timeline and possible problems.
Subsequent contact with him and his secretary before the operation were very positive and timely.
On the day of the operation Mr Parkar reiterated the procedure, the expected duration, outlined the probable post-op timeline and again went through any possible complications (none of which occurred).
At all times Mr Parkar was supportive of my wishes and motivations for wanting the procedure.
I now find myself without the pain and lack of mobility I had previously and can now look forward to a better quality of life.

Mr Parkar was trained through the prestigious Royal London Trauma & Orthopaedic training rotation programme. He has done fellowships at the Barts health NHS trust, London, Guy’s and St. Thomas’s NHS foundation trust, London and a north American fellowship based in Calgary. These are level one trauma centres and tertiary referral centre for complex Orthopaedic procedures.
His NHS practice is based at Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital, London. His practice is mainly focussed around sports knee injuries, ligament reconstruction and computer assisted joint replacement for patients with existing deformities. He is one of the few surgeons in the country with fellowship training in performing hip replacement through direct anterior approach. He is also the infection control lead for the department.
He has been actively involved in research and has published his work in several peer reviewed journals. He has a degree in computer and robotic assisted joint replacement. He has a holistic and evidence based approach towards patients care.
Mr Parkar was awarded certificate of excellence for providing great care "I want great Care" in 2022 & 2023. He was also awarded trainer of the year 2022 through Royal National Orthopaedic Stanmore Training Programme for registrars.
